The Texas Health and Human Services Commission runs the Home and Community-Based Services - Adult Mental Health (HCBS-AMH) 1915(i) program. Adults with serious mental illness can receive treatment from the program in their homes and in their communities (SMI). This program assists people with major mental illnesses who also have lengthy stints in state mental health facilities, numerous arrests, or frequent trips to the emergency room (ER). To help each program member effectively reintegrate into their community, the program offers personalized resources, services, and supports. Our services as a recovery manager for Home and Community-Based Services—Adult Mental Health (HCBS-AMH) give you the freedom to live, enjoy, and take advantage of opportunities in the community of your choice.
